New Study Finds no Link between Vaccines and Lupus

Because of the link between certain infections and lupus it has been suggested that vaccines could be a trigger for the disease. However, a new study of 105 French and Canadian patients published in Arthritis & Rheumatology found that recent vaccination was not associated with an increased risk of developing lupus. Most commonly, the people in the study had received vaccines against influenza (flu) and diphtheria/tetanus/pertussis/poliomyelitis (DTPP).
