Famed Musician Snoop Dogg and Wife Shante Broadus Open Up About Their Personal Connection to Lupus

Shante Broadus, Boss Lady Entertainment CEO, Joins Board of Foundationís West Coast Division

Lupus LA joined New York’s S.L.E. Lupus Foundation as a West Coast partner a decade ago, and together the organizations lead the way in delivering care, raising awareness, educating people about lupus—and in pioneering discovery to find a cure through their national research arm, the Lupus Research Institute—for so many of the nation’s 1.5 million Americans with lupus.
“Lupus LA is thrilled to welcome Shante Broadus to our board,” said Lupus LA Chairman, Adam Selkowitz. “The commitment the Broadus family has made to the fight against lupus is critically important to the success of our organization—and we know that they will have a huge impact on lupus awareness worldwide.”

Mrs. Broadus recently explained her connection to lupus and her involvement with Lupus LA in a People Magazine story.

In the piece, she describes becoming committed to Lupus LA after her daughter Cori was diagnosed with lupus at age 6 and her family found such community, connection, and support through the organization.

Upon learning that lupus is more prevalent among women of color, Mrs. Broadus also recognized that the organization needed a voice and that her family’s celebrity status could help. More than 1.5 million Americans have the chronic autoimmune disease.

In addition to her involvement with Lupus LA, Mrs. Broadus maintains her position as CEO of Boss Lady Entertainment, managing upcoming recording artists, planning events, overseeing her fashion line, and working with her community dance studio.
