New Yorkers Shout It Out:
Lupus Research Today!

Tell Congress 2010

Fifteen delegates from the Empire State—and dozens more from the rest of the nation—are in D.C. this week.

Be there too, as an online lupus advocate, and show Congress just how powerful our National Coalition's Patients' Voice for Lupus Research is!

On Thursday, March 4th:

Send a message by email, Twitter, Facebook.
(Check out tips for finding your congresspersons' contact info here.)

*Tell Congress! Keep funding—and increase to $35 billion—biomedical research support at the National Institutes of Health for fiscal year 2011.

*Tell Congress! Lessen the disparities in care for people with lupus. Designate $5 million to the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Minority Health to continue funding the new lupus education program for healthcare providers.

Surveying You to Serve You!

Did you get a survey in the mail from us recently? We’re partnering with Yeshiva University in surveying people with lupus who live in New York City.

The goal: to enable social workers and other health care providers to better help and care for people living with lupus in our city. The survey asks about how lupus has impacted your life, takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete, and stays anonymous—we promise.

If you haven’t already, please fill it out and send it back. We’ll let you know about results on Twitter, Facebook, and on our Web site, LupusNY.org.

We—and all the people with lupus in our city, THANK YOU!
